ST. JOHNSBURY — A routine traffic stop on Route 5 led to the arrest of a St. Johnsbury woman wanted on an active warrant, Vermont State Police said Thursday.

At approximately 12:07 p.m. on Jan. 25, troopers pulled over a vehicle near Garland Hill Rd after noticing several motor vehicle violations.

During the stop, police identified the passenger as 35-year-old Darlene L.

Gilchrist, who had an outstanding $100 warrant for her arrest.

The warrant was issued after Gilchrist failed to appear in court on charges of felony possession of stolen property.

Following her arrest, Gilchrist was taken to Caledonia Court for a hearing.

She was subsequently released from custody.
