MONKTON — A two-vehicle collision occurred on Bristol Road near Church Road on Monday evening, with both drivers escaping injury.

Vermont State Police were called to the scene at about 7:35 p.m. after reports of the crash.

Stephanie Fitzgerald, 53, of Williston, was driving her 2004 Toyota 4-Runner northbound when the hood suddenly unlatched, causing her view to be obstructed.

Fitzgerald’s vehicle veered across the center line, colliding with a southbound 2023 Tesla Model Y, driven by Jennifer Kiewit, 47, of Bristol.

The collision resulted in front-end damage to the Toyota and rear-end damage to the Tesla.

Both vehicles were found resting on opposite shoulders of the road, and luckily, neither driver sustained injuries.

Authorities noted that the weather was cloudy, but the road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

Traffic flow was temporarily affected but resumed normally shortly after the vehicles were removed from the scene.
