Hillsborough County Sheriff warns of phone scam impersonating deputies

GOFFSTOWN — Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office issued a scam alert on Jan. 24 after learning that residents are receiving calls from individuals posing as deputies from the sheriff’s office.

The fraudulent callers are reportedly impersonating a Hillsborough County Sergeant and falsely claiming that there are legal matters that need to be addressed.

These calls are attempts to deceive individuals into providing personal information and are not legitimate.

Residents who have received such calls are urged to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office directly at (603) 627-5610 or to visit their office at 329 Mast Road in Goffstown for assistance.
