Driver sustains minor injuries in single-vehicle crash in Highgate

HIGHGATE — A Highgate man was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Highgate Road near Route 78 on Jan. 23, sustaining minor injuries, according to Vermont State Police.

Joshua Greenia, 29, of Franklin, was driving a 2022 Volkswagen when he swerved to avoid two cars stopped for a downed telephone pole and struck a tree at 4:23 p.m.

Greenia, who was not wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries and was transported to Northwest Medical Center for treatment.

The Vermont State Police, Highgate Fire Department, and Missisquoi Valley Rescue responded to the scene.

The crash is still under investigation, but road and weather conditions were reported as clear at the time of the incident.

Damage to Greenia’s vehicle was concentrated on the front end.
