ADDISON — A commercial truck veered off Vermont Route 17 W and struck a telephone pole Monday evening, leading to a road closure that lasted about three hours, according to state troopers.

Arjun Singh, 49, of E Greenbush, New York, was driving a 2019 Volvo VNL760 westbound near Gage Road when his vehicle left the roadway and hit the pole, coming to rest on the eastbound shoulder, police said.

The accident occurred under cloudy skies with snow-covered roads around 7:19 p.m.

Singh, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was not injured.

His truck sustained minor damage.

The road was shut down while crews worked to remove the tractor-trailer.

Members of the Addison Fire Department and MiddState Towing assisted troopers at the scene.

Route 17 was reopened to traffic shortly after 10 p.m.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
