Police seek driver after hit-and-run, high-speed chase in Colchester

COLCHESTER — Officers from the Colchester Police Department are on the lookout for a man who fled from law enforcement after being found unresponsive in a vehicle on Monday morning.

At approximately 9:17 a.m., authorities responded to a report of an unresponsive male inside of a vehicle parked at 1184 Prim Road, the Price Chopper parking lot.

Upon arrival, the officers engaged with the individual and observed signs of impairment.

During their investigation, the male abruptly drove away from the scene.

Officers soon spotted him driving over the speed limit and overtaking other vehicles on Prim Road and West Lakeshore Drive.

Efforts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful as it failed to yield and was last seen heading north on Interstate 89 from exit 17.

The man has not been located, and the search continues.

The vehicle in question is a black 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer with Vermont registration KAB859.
