Enosburgh man charged with aggravated domestic assault in Sheldon

SHELDON — A 31-year-old Enosburgh man was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault and interference with access to emergency services early Saturday morning, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities responded to a report of a domestic assault at 171 Dunton Road at approximately 1:04 a.m. on Jan. 20.

The investigation identified Nicholas Toprani as the accused in the assault of a household member.

Following the incident, Toprani was taken into custody on Jan. 22 and processed at the State Police Barracks in St. Albans.

He was subsequently lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.

Toprani has been issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Monday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name or details of the victim, in accordance with policies protecting the identities of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
