Dover police make arrest in burglary of deceased man’s home

DOVER — Chief William Breault of the Dover Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a burglary at the home of a deceased man.

On December 17, a burglary occurred at the Lilac Garden apartment complex, where multiple firearms were stolen from the residence of a 54-year-old Dover man who had passed away of natural causes on December 13.

The family discovered the theft after the property had been turned over to them.

Michelle Wells, 52, of Seabrook, New Hampshire, was identified as the suspect by Dover Police detectives.

Wells, an acquaintance of the victim’s family, was found in possession of the stolen firearms, which were recovered with the help of the Seabrook Police Department.

Wells surrendered to authorities on January 19 after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

She has been charged with Burglary, a class “A” felony.

Following her surrender, she was released on personal recognizance and is set to appear before the 7th Circuit Court – District Division – Dover, on February 26.
