KEENE — In an updated press release, Keene Police Department clarified details regarding a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred earlier.

The incident involved a westbound 2001 Chevrolet 2500 driven by Edward Jacod, 81, of Sullivan, and an eastbound 2007 GMC 1500 operated by Jace Joslyn, 18, of Swanzey.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Jacod did not yield the right-of-way while attempting to turn onto Washington St, resulting in the collision.

A passenger in Jacod’s vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and has since been airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities also corrected the original press release to note that emergency medical services were provided by Cheshire EMS.

The Keene Police Department is urging witnesses of the crash to come forward with any information they may have.
