Bethel man faces DUI #2 charge after traffic stop near library

BETHEL — A local man was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence, Vermont State Police said.

Joel B. Adams, 47, was pulled over for a vehicle violation at about 1:45 p.m. on Route 12 near the Bethel Library.

During the stop, troopers from the Royalton Barracks observed signs of impairment.

After conducting field sobriety tests, Adams was taken into custody and brought to the Royalton Barracks for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in court on Feb. 6 at 8 a.m.

The Royalton Police Department assisted state troopers during the incident.

No further details regarding the violation or the nature of the impairment were released.
