Piermont police investigate dock damage, vehicle plunges into Hudson River

PIERMONT — Officers from the Piermont Police Department responded to a report of damage at the local pier on Ferry Road Wednesday at around 2 p.m.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered tire tracks in the snow leading to the end of the dock, as well as vehicle parts scattered near the damaged area.

Further investigation, which included reviewing video footage, revealed a vehicle entering the pier area, with the driver then exiting the vehicle before it drove off the end of the dock into the Hudson River.

The Piermont Police Department’s Detective Unit is actively investigating the incident, with support from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials are seeking the public’s assistance with any information related to the event.
