Two arrested, drugs and firearms seized in Lawrence police operation

LAWRENCE — A collaborative law enforcement operation targeting drug activity on Byron Ave has resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of illegal narcotics and firearms.

The Lawrence Police Street Crimes Unit, which includes the Street Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Gang Unit, worked in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit and the Department of Homeland Security.

They executed a controlled purchase of narcotics that led to the arrests and seizures.

Taken into custody without incident, a 45-year-old Lawrence man faces charges of drug possession with intent to distribute and four counts of drug trafficking.

A second individual, a 27-year-old Lawrence man, has been charged with drug possession with intent to distribute.

Both suspects were arraigned in Lawrence District Court following the operation.
