Nashua man arrested for domestic violence, threats with a knife

NASHUA — A Nashua man has been arrested on multiple charges including criminal threatening and domestic violence after a Jan. 13 incident involving a knife, according to the Nashua Police Department.

Michael Powell, 22, was taken into custody after officers responded to a domestic disturbance call.

Police said Powell engaged in a verbal altercation with family members that escalated when he allegedly assaulted them, prevented them from calling for help, and threatened them with a knife.

No injuries were reported at the scene, and Powell was detained without further incident.

Facing charges of domestic violence; criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, a Class B Felony, obstructing the report of a crime/injury, a Class A Misdemeanor, and five counts of simple assault, also Class A Misdemeanors, Powell is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections.

Powell is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court on Jan. 16 at 1 p.m.
