Milford restaurant robbed at gunpoint

MILFORD — Two masked men armed with handguns robbed Aroma Brazil on Beach Street late Tuesday night, escaping with a substantial amount of cash, according to the Milford Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 9 p.m. after receiving reports of an armed robbery at the eatery located at 2 Beach St.

Employees told police that the suspects, whose faces were concealed by masks and hoods, demanded money and left with the cash before fleeing on foot.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects enter a grey Dodge Durango, believed to be a model from between 2011 and 2013, which was used as a getaway vehicle.

The Milford Police Detective Bureau is leading the investigation and has issued a call for assistance from the public.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the two armed suspects, the driver, or the vehicle involved in the incident is urged to contact the confidential tip line at 508-473-3800.

The police department has not disclosed the amount of cash stolen during the robbery.
