Boston police seek help finding missing 17-year-old girl

BOSTON — The Boston Police Department has issued a missing person alert for 17-year-old Tashara Devoe-Bowman, who was last seen on Jan. 9 at 6:30 a.m. leaving her Roxbury home to attend school at Greater Egleston Academy in Jamaica Plain.

Tashara has not been seen since departing early that morning for the school located at 80 School Street.

She is described as a black female, 5 feet tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair.

She has a medium build and straight hair that reaches her shoulders, typically worn in a ponytail.

While she often wears a knee-length Ralph Lauren navy blue jacket with brown fur on the hood, it is not confirmed if she was wearing it on the day of her disappearance.

She also suffers from depression, adding to the urgency of her safe return.

The Boston Police Department urges anyone with information on Tashara’s whereabouts to call 911 or the B-2 Detectives at (617) 343-4275.
