FAIRFAX — A St. Albans man has been charged with second-degree aggravated domestic assault, unlawful trespass, and unlawful mischief following a domestic dispute in Fairfax earlier this month.

State Police say they were called to a home on Main St. in Fairfax at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Jan. 7 for a report of an active domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered that the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Dalton Toprani of St. Albans, had already left the scene.

The investigation determined that Toprani had forcibly entered the residence, causing damage to the property.

Additionally, a family member sustained injuries during the incident.

After several days at large, Toprani turned himself in to the St. Albans State Police barracks on the afternoon of Jan. 11.

He was processed and subsequently transferred to the Northwest Correctional Center, where he is being held on $1,000 bail awaiting further proceedings.
