South Burlington credit card fraud under investigation

SOUTH BURLINGTON — The Vermont State Police are investigating a case of credit card fraud that occurred early Thursday morning at two separate businesses in South Burlington.

Authorities say the incident took place around 7:56 a.m. at the Price Chopper on 41 Hinesburg Road, where an individual attempted to use a stolen debit card to purchase gift cards totaling $623.

The same suspect is reported to have tried to buy $454 worth of gift cards at Kinney Drugs on 1653 Williston Road.

The Vermont State Police are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Investigators have not disclosed any descriptions or surveillance footage but are calling on anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
