Nashua man arrested on multiple drug charges, including fentanyl sales

NASHUA — A Nashua man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges after an investigation by the local police department’s Narcotics Intelligence Division, authorities announced.

Remi Barrera, 36, of Summer Street Apt. #A, was taken into custody on Jan. 9 after detectives obtained an arrest warrant following an investigation into his alleged involvement in selling illicit narcotics in Nashua.

A search warrant for Barrera’s residence was also executed.

The Nashua Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team and the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Unit assisted in the arrest.

Upon completing the search, Barrera faced additional charges including two counts of sale of a controlled drug (fentanyl and crack cocaine), subsequent offense, special felony, three counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute (crack cocaine, fentanyl, and buprenorphine naloxone), subsequent offense, class A felony, common nuisances, class B felony, and dealing or possessing prescription drugs, class A misdemeanor.

Following his arrest, Barrera was held on preventative detention and is scheduled for arraignment at the 9th Circuit District Division Court – Nashua on Jan. 10 at 1 p.m.

The Nashua Police Department is encouraging the public to report any illegal drug activity by calling the Narcotics Hotline at 603-594-3597.
