HUDSON — A 10-year-old was injured Monday morning when a tree fell on a vehicle in Hudson, officials said.

The Hudson Police and Fire Departments were called to Falls Brook Road at Laurel Drive around 9:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle struck by a tree.

Upon arrival, responders found an approximately 8-inch diameter tree had fallen onto the car.

A branch from the tree struck the child in the head, according to Chief Richard DiPersio and Chief Jamie Desautels.

While the child did not appear to have suffered serious injuries, they were transported to Marlborough Hospital for further evaluation.

No other injuries were reported.

Emergency crews were able to remove the tree from the road, which has since been reopened to traffic.
