Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run in Concord

CONCORD — A vehicle struck a pedestrian on Clinton Street, between Langley Parkway and Norwich Street, in Concord on January 8, 2024, around 4:55 a.m.

Concord Police and Fire Departments swiftly responded to the scene.

The pedestrian, who was wearing a high-visibility vest and walking east on Clinton Street, suffered serious and life-threatening injuries.

After initial treatment at Concord Hospital, the victim was transferred to a hospital in Boston for further care.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident did not stop and remains unidentified.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the vehicle is a Volkswagen Jetta, model year 2015 to 2017, with the color of the car still unknown.

Notably, the vehicle is missing its passenger-side mirror and was last seen traveling east towards South Street in Concord.

The Concord Police Department is actively seeking witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident. They encourage anyone who can assist in the investigation to contact them at 603-225-8600.
