Man arrested in Orleans County on drug charges, warrant after fleeing police

GREENSBORO — Sheriff Jennifer Harlow of the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest of Dana Patten following a high-speed traffic incident on Route 16.

Deputy Daniel Locke, while patrolling southbound on Jan. 1 at 6:25 p.m., encountered a vehicle speeding north at 77 mph.

Upon attempting to stop the vehicle with lights and siren activated, the driver initially fled but was later apprehended.

Patten, 47, of Woodbury, was identified as the driver and taken into custody on an active arrest warrant for Fentanyl trafficking.

A subsequent search led to the discovery of two bags of suspected methamphetamine among Patten’s belongings.

Patten has been cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Orleans Criminal Division on Feb. 6 at 8:30 a.m. to face misdemeanor charges for driving with a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine.
