Charlotte man arrested for DUI after leaving crash scene

CHARLOTTE — A 25-year-old Charlotte man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a motor vehicle crash on April 1.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Shelburne Road and Ferry Road around 4:45 p.m. The driver, identified as Damion Bothwell, had left the scene by the time authorities arrived.

After locating Bothwell, officers observed several signs of impairment.

He was taken into custody and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident (LSA).

Bothwell was processed at the Williston State Police Barracks and later released with a citation.

He is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court to face the charges.
