BARNSTEAD — A months-long fugitive, Jedadiah Corliss, was apprehended on Jan. 3 at 4:30 p.m. by the Belknap County Sheriff’s Office, working in collaboration with the Barnstead Police Department and the Barnstead K9 team.

Corliss had been adept at avoiding law enforcement by using various concealment methods, despite constant attempts to locate him.

A search warrant recently issued for a location where Corliss was spotted resulted in the team’s eventual success.

Upon officers’ arrival at Corliss’s hideout, he initially tried to avoid arrest by not responding to their presence.

Law enforcement then made a forced entry into the residence, where the use of a K9 unit prompted Corliss to reveal himself and surrender without further incident.

Corliss now faces charges including Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Drugs, and Resisting Arrest.
