Man arrested on disorderly conduct warrant after traffic stop in West Warwick

WEST WARWICK — A 22-year-old man was arrested on a disorderly conduct warrant Wednesday night after a traffic stop in the town, state police said.

Jesus E. Lopez of 19 Mount Vernon Street, West Warwick, was taken into custody at 8:39 p.m. following the stop on New London Turnpike, according to authorities.

The arrest warrant for Lopez originated from the West Warwick Police Department.

After the stop, troopers transported him to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.

He was later turned over to local police.

Details of the incident leading to the issuance of the warrant were not immediately available.

The West Warwick Police Department has not released further information regarding the circumstances of the alleged disorderly conduct.

Lopez is expected to face charges related to the warrant.

It was unclear if he had obtained legal representation or when he would appear in court.
