LYNN — An 18-year-old suspect was apprehended Wednesday in connection with a recent shooting on State St., according to local authorities.

Delvin Sanchez was taken into custody by officials from the Lynn Police Department, Peabody Police, and Massachusetts State Police.

The arrest occurred at a Peabody location where Sanchez was found and detained on a warrant charging him with Armed Assault to Murder, Accessory Before the Fact, and Accessory After the Fact.

The arrest stems from a shooting incident that happened Tuesday, Dec. 26, on State St. in Lynn.

The investigation into the shooting is still active and ongoing.

Following the State St. shooting and another incident on Camden St., law enforcement from the Lynn Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Gang Unit, and Patrol Divisions, along with the Massachusetts State Police and several federal agencies, have committed extensive resources to investigation and gang suppression efforts.

Police Chief Christopher Reddy expressed gratitude for the collaborative work leading to the arrest and emphasized the department’s dedication to resolving the case and preventing further violence.

Since the start of the year, efforts have resulted in four arrests related to illegal firearm possession, with a total of 57 firearms seized in the city.

Chief Reddy appealed to the community for further assistance in the ongoing investigations, urging anyone with information to contact the Lynn Police Department at 781-595-2000.
