Woonsocket man arrested on felony assault, probation violation charges

WOONSOCKET — Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended 35-year-old Jkiah Thomas on Jan. 2, following an outstanding warrant for domestic felony assault involving his son and a probation violation related to a previous murder charge.

Thomas, a resident of 89 Chestnut Street, was taken into custody without incident.

The West Warwick Police Department had issued an affidavit and arrest warrant leading to his arrest.

After being processed at the Lincoln Barracks, authorities transferred Thomas to the West Warwick Police Department, where he awaited his arraignment.

The nature of the domestic assault and details regarding Thomas’s original murder charge have not been disclosed by law enforcement.
