Southborough police investigate burglary after family returns from vacation

SOUTHBOROUGH — Southborough Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence on Macneil Drive after a family returned from vacation to find their home had been broken into and valuables stolen.

The incident was reported to the police on Jan. 2 at approximately 5 p.m. The homeowners, who had just returned from a trip, discovered the theft of jewelry and other items from their home.

According to the initial investigation, the suspect or suspects gained entry through a second-story window at the rear of the house while the family was away between Dec. 14 and Jan. 2.

Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in the case.

Anyone who may have seen suspicious activities in the area of Macneil Drive during the specified period or who has information about the break-in is encouraged to contact the Southborough Police Department’s Detective division at (508) 485-2121.
