LANESBOROUGH — Early this morning, the Lanesborough Police Department received a report of an armed robbery near the Lanesborough/New Ashford town line on RT 7.
The victim, who was traveling southbound, stopped to assist what appeared to be a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder of the road.
As he approached the vehicle, a male suspect exited and another male reportedly came up from behind, pressing what the victim believed to be a firearm against his head.
After robbing the victim, the suspects drove away in a dark-colored, older model pickup truck with visible rust and a ladder rack, bearing Vermont license plates.
They were last seen heading south on RT 7.
