Mapleville man arrested for vandalism, sexual assault

LINCOLN — An 18-year-old Mapleville man was arrested on New Year’s Day on charges of vandalism and sexual assault following an incident at a local casino, authorities said.

Nathan L. Laramee was taken into custody by the Gaming Enforcement Unit for allegedly committing one count of vandalism/malicious damage to property.

Additionally, he was arrested on a warrant issued by the Burrillville Police Department for second-degree sexual assault.

According to officials, Laramee returned to the casino where he was apprehended without incident on the gaming floor.

He was subsequently transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing.

Laramee appeared in front of a Bail Commissioner, who set bail at $1,000 personal recognizance for the State Police charge.

Following the bail proceedings, Laramee was turned over to the custody of the Burrillville Police Department to face the sexual assault charge.

The investigation into the allegations against Laramee is ongoing.

Laramee’s arraignment date was not immediately available.
