Mailbox vandalism, thefts plague Sheldon, Highgate residents

SHELDON — State Police are seeking public assistance after a series of mailbox vandalism and mail theft incidents were reported during the early morning hours of Jan. 2.

Troopers say multiple residents from Dunton Road and Rice Hill Road in Sheldon, as well as Jones Road in Highgate and March Farm Road in Franklin, were victims of property damage and theft between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The unknown perpetrators are currently under investigation, and authorities are working to identify any vehicles or individuals involved in the crimes.

Residents who may have seen suspicious activity or have information related to the incidents are encouraged to contact the St. Albans Barracks.

The Vermont State Police continue their efforts to protect community mail integrity and bring those responsible to justice.
