Holyoke firefighters extinguish third-floor blaze

HOLYOKE — At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, the Holyoke Police Department responded to a call of a possible structure fire on Walnut Street.

Upon arrival, officers observed smoke emanating from the third floor of a three-family residence near the intersection of Essex Street.

The officers promptly ensured that all occupants were safely evacuated from the building.

The Holyoke Fire Department arrived swiftly on the scene and managed to extinguish the fire, which was confined to the third floor.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Holyoke Fire Department.

There have been no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
