Dorchester shooting victim identified, police seek information

DORCHESTER — Officers from District C-11 responded to a report of a shooting at 34 High Street early on Jan. 1, where they found a 24-year-old man fatally wounded outside the address.

Nilton Fernandes, of Dorchester, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound, according to the Boston Police Department.

The Homicide Unit is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
