Wallingford man charged with lewd conduct in shared residence

WALLINGFORD — A 53-year-old Wallingford man was arrested Saturday on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct, Vermont State Police said.

Mark Spencer was taken into custody after an investigation by the Rutland Barracks into a reported sexual offense that occurred at a shared residence in Wallingford.

Authorities were alerted to the incident on Dec. 22.

According to the investigation, Spencer allegedly exposed himself inappropriately to a female housemate.

On the afternoon of Dec. 31, troopers interviewed Spencer and subsequently arrested him.

Spencer was processed at the Rutland Barracks and given a citation to appear at the Rutland Criminal Division at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 to answer to the charge.

The Vermont State Police remind the public that the identity of victims in sexual assault and domestic violence cases is protected and not released.

Spencer’s case is pending legal action, and no further details regarding the victim have been disclosed.
