NEW HAMPTON — A serious motor vehicle crash on Interstate 93 South shook New Hampton on Dec. 31, leaving three of five vehicle occupants with life-threatening injuries after being ejected during a rollover.

New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop D barracks responded to the incident at approximately 4:51 p.m.

Initial reports of a multiple vehicle crash with an ejected infant were later clarified to involve a single vehicle with three ejected occupants.

Emergency responders, including Fire and EMS teams from several communities, provided lifesaving efforts on the scene.

The highway was closed for about an hour and a half to allow a DART Helicopter to land and transport one of the injured to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

All the vehicle’s occupants were transported to four area hospitals.

The interstate was later reopened, though one lane remained closed for an additional three hours for a roadside investigation.

Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Troop D received extensive assistance from multiple agencies, including the State Police CAR Unit, local fire and EMS departments, and New Hampton Towing.

Officials urge anyone with information or who witnessed the crash to contact Trooper Tyler L.
