Home burglary in Barton, firearms and sword stolen

BARTON — A burglary was reported at a residence on South Barton Road on Dec. 31, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Vermont State Police are investigating the incident after receiving a report from the homeowner.

The items reported stolen include a Marlin .22 automatic rifle, a Marlin 30-30 bolt-action rifle, 30-30 ammunition, .270 ammunition, bird shot ammunition, and a sword in a red case. The identity of the accused is currently unknown, and the police investigation is actively ongoing.

The Vermont State Police are seeking information from the public that could assist in the investigation of this burglary.
