Dorchester shooting leaves one man dead, investigation underway

BOSTON — Boston police are conducting a death investigation following a shooting early Saturday morning in Dorchester.

At about 12:52 a.m., on Dec. 30, officers from District C-11 responded to reports of a shooting at 417 Geneva Ave.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim with gunshot wounds.

Officials pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident, reviewing all facts and circumstances that led to the shooting.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.

The department assures that the identities of those providing anonymous tips will be protected.

The Boston Neighborhood Trauma Team (NTT) is also available to offer emotional support to those affected by the shooting.
