Burke man arrested on warrant, stolen vehicle recovered

BURKE — Officers from the Lyndonville Police Department conducting a search for an individual related to an unrelated incident, arrested 24-year-old Cole Stewart on an outstanding warrant and recovered a stolen vehicle.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:53 p.m. yesterday, when officers arrived at a residence on 40 Depot Street.

There, they discovered a Subaru with Virginia license plates that had been reported stolen.

Stewart, a Burke resident, was present at the location and was identified as the subject of an arrest warrant.

The Subaru was seized and subsequently turned over to the Vermont State Police based at the St. Johnsbury barracks.

Stewart was taken into custody and lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility.
