Man arrested for abuse prevention order violation in Killington

KILLINGTON — A 43-year-old man from Fort Edward, New York, was arrested Thursday night for violating an abuse prevention order.

Vermont State Police responded to the incident at approximately 8:20 p.m. in the Town of Killington.

Upon arrival and through subsequent investigation, authorities determined that James Wood had violated an active court-issued abuse prevention order.

Wood was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing.

Following the arrest, Wood was issued court-ordered conditions of release.

Details regarding the specifics of the abuse prevention order or the nature of the violation were not immediately available.

The case remains under investigation, and Wood is expected to appear in court to face the charge.
