FOXBOROUGH — The operator involved in the December 27 motor vehicle crash at the YMCA on 67 Mechanic Street has been summoned to Wrentham District Court for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, following the completion of the investigation.

The 51-year-old Rhode Island resident will face a Clerk’s Magistrate hearing to assess probable cause at a future date.

Authorities are withholding the operator’s name until the outcome of the Clerk Magistrate’s hearing, in compliance with Massachusetts Public Records Laws.

The incident originally occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27, when Foxborough Police and Fire Departments were called to the YMCA after receiving multiple E-911 calls reporting a vehicle had collided with the building.

The crash resulted in injuries to several people inside the structure.

Four juveniles were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.

The Foxborough Police Department, in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, continues to actively investigate the incident.
