West Rutland man arrested on domestic assault charges

WEST RUTLAND — A local man was arrested early Thursday morning after police responded to a domestic disturbance in West Rutland.

Vermont State Police said they received a call at about 6:50 a.m. and went to a home on Whipple Hollow Road, where they found evidence that Michael Greene, 36, had caused pain or bodily injury to a family or household member.

Greene was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

Following processing, he was brought to Vermont Superior Court – Criminal Division for arraignment.

The identity of the victim was not released by authorities, in line with Vermont State Police policy on cases involving domestic or sexual assault.

The case remains under investigation by Vermont State Police.
