Wellesley police investigate after 70-year-old found dead near college

WELLESLEY — Wellesley Police Department officers were dispatched to Central Street near Weston Road at 9:15 a.m. on Dec. 27 after receiving a 9-1-1 call about an unconscious and unresponsive 70-year-old person.

The individual was located by officers adjacent to a walking path close to Wellesley College, in a slightly wooded area.

Upon arrival, police found the person who reported the incident administering CPR to the victim.

Officers took over the life-saving efforts until the Wellesley Fire Department and Cataldo Paramedics arrived to continue emergency medical care.

Despite these efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wellesley Police Officers and Detectives, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Wellesley College Police are collaborating in the investigation of the incident, which is standard protocol in cases of untimely death.

According to authorities, the victim did not have any known affiliation with Wellesley College.

The body was removed from the scene by the Medical Examiner.

As the investigation is currently active, no additional information has been made available to the public at this time.
