GILSUM — Detectives from the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the New Hampshire State Police Troop C Barracks arrested 27-year-old Eric Michael Castine of Keene on Wednesday, Dec. 27, following an investigation into alleged sexual assaults facilitated through social media.

The arrest warrant was issued after a report to State Police suggested that Castine used the app Snapchat to commit sexual assault against a person under the age of 16.

Further investigation by Troop C Detectives indicated that Castine may have used the app to communicate with and arrange in-person meetings with other juveniles.

Castine is charged with one count of felonious sexual assault under NH RSA 632-A:3, a Class B Felony.

The investigation into his interactions with minors continues, and authorities anticipate that additional charges may be filed.

Currently held on preventative detention, Castine is scheduled for arraignment at the Cheshire County Superior Court on Thursday, Dec. 28.
