SPENCER — A Spencer man was injured in an early morning crash on Monday after his vehicle collided at the intersection of Paxton and Thompson Pond Roads.

At 12:55 a.m., Spencer First Responders were called to the scene of the accident where they found a 31-year-old male with significant injuries.

Although serious, the injuries were reported as not life-threatening, and the individual was promptly transported to UMass for treatment.

The Central Mass.

Law Enforcement Council (CMLEC) is currently reconstructing the accident as part of the ongoing investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that high speed was a considerable factor in the collision.

Authorities are also investigating the possibility of the same vehicle being involved in a hit-and-run incident resulting in personal injury in Worcester, prior to the Spencer crash.
