South Burlington man arrested for DUI after speeding on I-189

SOUTH BURLINGTON — A local man was arrested early Christmas Eve on suspicion of driving under the influence after being pulled over for speeding on Interstate 189.

Francisco Heredia, 21, of South Burlington, was observed by a Vermont State Police Trooper from the Williston Barracks traveling at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-89 south near exit 13.

The stop was initiated around 2:46 a.m. on the westbound side of I-189.

During the traffic stop, troopers detected signs of impairment and subsequently arrested Heredia on DUI charges.

He was processed at the Williston Barracks and released with a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on Jan. 30 at 8:15 a.m.

Additionally, Heredia received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for the speed violation.
