STAMFORD — A single-vehicle crash early Christmas Eve morning left a Pownal man with minor injuries after his car veered off Main Road and collided with trees.

At approximately 10:10 a.m., Derek Parizo, 31, was driving his 2002 Subaru Impreza southbound when he lost control of the vehicle during a left-hand curve on the wet roadway.

The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage as it continued off the west shoulder and came to an uncontrolled rest after the collision.

Troopers from the Shaftsbury barracks, along with the Stamford Fire Department and Northern Berkshire Rescue, responded to the incident.

Parizo, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
