Pownal man arrested for domestic assault, resisting arrest

POWNAL — A local man was arrested on charges of domestic assault and resisting arrest after Vermont State Police responded to a report of a physical dispute at a Puddingstone Road residence late Friday night.

Authorities received a call at 9:28 p.m. and upon arrival, they discovered that Trevor M.

Beliveau, 28, had allegedly assaulted a 37-year-old family or household member.

The victim, whose name has not been released due to the nature of the incident, reportedly suffered pain as a result of the altercation.

During his arrest, Beliveau engaged in a brief struggle with the officers but was eventually secured and taken to the Shaftsbury State Police Barracks for processing.

Following the incident, Beliveau was released on conditions and received a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on Dec. 26 at 12:30 p.m.

The Vermont State Police have not disclosed further details about the incident or the victim, adhering to policies that protect the identities of victims in cases of domestic violence and sexual assault.
