WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers made a swift arrest following an attempted robbery at Gateway Foods on Millbury Street on the night of Dec. 21.
Authorities were called to the scene around 11 p.m. after reports of a male suspect demanding money from the register.
The would-be robber fled the store on foot, heading down Millbury Street towards Endicott Street before officers arrived.
After interviewing witnesses and reviewing security footage, police quickly identified a suspect.
A short time later, a man matching the description given by witnesses was found near the intersection of Millbury and Endicott streets.
Donald Scott, a 49-year-old man from Georgia, was apprehended and charged with Unarmed Robbery and an outstanding warrant.
