BOSTON — Officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested two individuals and recovered a loaded firearm at a Back Bay hotel Thursday night.

At approximately 7:22 p.m., police responded to a report of a person with a knife at 40 Dalton Street.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male had visited a 23rd-floor room to engage in sexual activities for a fee.

A female suspect allegedly threatened to stab the man, robbing him of roughly $200, while a male suspect could be heard inside the room.

The victim retreated to the lobby and alerted hotel staff.

As officers approached the 23rd floor, they encountered a male suspect in the hallway who attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.

A pat frisk led to the discovery of a Glock 43X with eight rounds in the magazine, concealed in a fanny pack.

Officers also seized about $12,363 in cash.

The female suspect was located on the same floor and was promptly handcuffed.

Robert Santana, 28, of Lawrence, faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device.

Danine Simpson, 27, of Bronx, New York, is charged with armed robbery.

Both are slated for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.

Additionally, a 28-year-old man will be summonsed to court for sexual conduct for a fee.
