Law enforcement agencies bust drug operation at Lawrence grocery store

LAWRENCE — In a major clampdown on drug activity, multiple law enforcement agencies executed a controlled buy operation at a grocery store on the 300 block of Broadway.

The strategic operation led to the arrest of two Lawrence men, aged 59 and 52, who were taken into custody without incident.

Authorities also seized illegal narcotics, various prohibited products, and a sum of currency during the intervention.

The 59-year-old is facing charges of drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession, and drug trafficking.

The 52-year-old has been charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute and drug trafficking.

Both individuals were arraigned in the Lawrence District Court following their arrest.

The successful operation is part of an ongoing effort to combat the distribution and sale of illegal drugs within the community.
