BOSTON — Officers from the Drug Control Units of District C-6 (South Boston) and C-11 (Dorchester) arrested a local man on drug trafficking charges following a successful execution of search warrants on Thursday, officials said.

At approximately 12:19 p.m., on Dec. 21, law enforcement officials took Alvin McCray, 43, into custody after uncovering an estimated 25 grams of crack cocaine and roughly $1,904 in U.S. currency at a residence on 1591 Dorchester Avenue.

The arrest was part of an ongoing drug investigation that led to the search of McCray’s residence.

Authorities have charged McCray with trafficking of Class B substances and possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs.

McCray is slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court where he will face the charges.

The bust underscores continued efforts by local police to combat drug trafficking in the area.
